Green Jobs Council
The objective of the Green Jobs Council is to establish links between the WIB and the green jobs workforce sector to better align Sonoma County's current and future workforce with green career possibilities.
The Green Jobs Council:
- Identifies funding sources and opportunities to expand green programs and workforce training in Sonoma County,
- Identifies educational and training programs in Sonoma County and the North Bay that are specific to Green Jobs initiatives and determines the WIB's role in partnering with various partners to provide cohesive services in Sonoma County, and
- Gathers input from green job employers.
The roles of the Green Jobs Council are:
- To be the broker of information on employment and training needs in the green industry.
- To be the “convener” of Green Job employers/stakeholders .
- To sustain strategic involvement with and between major stakeholders.
